Sixth is sweet for Kopecky and TNN in stage two in Belgium

The second day of racing at the Baloise Belgium Tour proved to be much more rewarding than the first for Team Novo Nordisk with Czech sprinter Matyas Kopecky sixth on the stage.
Similar in characteristics to yesterday’s opener, the second day covered 194km from Beringen to Putte and it was largely uneventful until the final lap and the anticipated sprint finish.
“We raced a lot more together today and I feel like we improved on yesterday with our dynamic and of course the result,” said Kopecky. “The whole day was tranquillo, a bit of stress on the cobble sectors that were pretty rough, but otherwise calm until the final.”
“I didn’t realize that there’d been a crash just behind as we started the sprint, there’s already so much adrenaline and noise that you’re kind of on your own in the chaos trying to find the best way through. I thought I was fifth on the line, but it was close and went so much better today we can be happy.”
